Pastor Roscoe Fitzgerald Perry was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 15, 1963, to the late Deacon Roscoe and JoAnne Perry.

Pastor Perry attended Chatham County public schools and graduated from Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia. He matriculated at Savannah State University, receiving a B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. Pastor Perry attended and graduated from the Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse School of Religion, Atlanta, Georgia. There he received a Master of Divinity Degree. He completed studies at The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy. He currently serves as Chaplin for a local hospice group.

Pastor Perry was licensed to preach in 1983 and ordained in 1985 at the Historic First African Baptist Church in Savannah, GA. He became the sixth pastor of First Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia in August 1988.

Perry formerly served as President of the Youth Convention for the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc., Vice President of State Congress of Christian Education for the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. Pastor Perry was an instructor at American Baptist College in Augusta, Georgia, satellite site of American Baptist College of Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Perry is the author of Raise Up That Child. Sharing biblical truths on how God says we should raise our children.

First Mount Carmel Baptist Church has been led by Pastor Perry to minister beyond the walls of the church. His teaching and preaching have made a tremendous impact throughout this country. He is known as a Mission Minded Minister with a strong determination to help others. Pastor Perry is a man of valor with great character and integrity.

Pastor Perry is married to Ann Shivers Perry of McDonough, GA. Lady Ann leads the Women’s Ministry at First Mount Carmel. His daughter Christina and son-in-law Derenzo blessed him with a granddaughter, Ava Grace.
